You don't "lay down your very lives" by voting in a school board race, or attending a school board meeting, or donating to or campaigning for a school board candidate. In what kind of activity do you "lay down your very lives?"
Violence, that's what kind. He calls for violence.
And because you can't put an asterisk in a speech, I think it's safe to assume that when Trump spoke of people having to "lay down their very lives," he intended an exemption for those suffering bone spurs.

I don’t know if you have children, but a good parent will do what they have to do, so their children’s minds are not being destroyed by critical race theory ie teaching children to hate each other because of the color of their skin
@ronibf
If you think children anywhere in this country are being taught anything close to "critical race theory," you are being played for a major sucker.

There will come a point where he will be answered with violence.
It will be morally wrong. I will say, "Tsk, tsk," under my breath to register my outrage.
"There's no substitute for the love of language, for the beauty of an English sentence. There's no substitute for struggling, if a struggle is needed, to make an English sentence as beautiful as it should be." Harper Lee, born on this day in 1926

Is he crazy?

I argue with family and friends all the time about Trump. One thing I've noticed - if someone starts their argument with "what he meant to say was..." they already lost the argument.
