You look at the likes of Pompeo, Cotton, Cruz, Hawley, Haley and Rubio and see their souls so darkened by ambition, and you realize that the GOP is not going to regain its bearings anytime soon.

They have shown where they stand they have always stood for the rich, they have always stood for the powerful, being a 68 years old and white I have never understood how a working man can vote Republican it's mind boggling.

So true. GOP leaders today have autocratic sensibilities. They are as self-serving as Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, who would destroy our republic for personal power and wealth. Biden needs a strong, communicative Sec’y. of Ed. to inform original American ideals in schools.

You’re exactly right - the common thread here is raw ambition. None of these people is stupid - in fact, each is clever in a way that is dangerous to our democracy. None is like-able, either. But, then, neither is Trump.

Maybe with two years before any election, they should expose the man for who he is. Maybe, they could move out of the mess they now have. DT, of course, was essential to the vote from people who should not be GOP.
