Trump's rage over the anonymity of the whistleblower may seem excessive, but it has its own logic. Anonymity means Trump can't give the person an insulting nickname, can't call him or her ugly or fat, can't use his surrogates to smear and intimidate. He can't make it personal 1/2
And if Trump can't make it deeply personal somehow, his only alternative is to challenge the whistleblower's account on its merits, on factual grounds, which Trump knows is impossible. THAT is why he's so frustrated. His foe's anonymity disarms him. 2/2

We know who it is.
Eric Ciaramella.
It's called process of elimination.
This is falling apart on Schiff and Nancy. It's freaking beautiful.
@jaysbookman
Hey Jay. How would you like to be Accused of a Horrible Act but your Accuser is allowed to remain Anonymous bet you would have a problem with it. As would anyone.
@studiolittle_T
At this point the whistleblower's identity no longer matters. What matters are the facts: The transcript, the "do us a favor though," the public admissions by Trump and Giuliani, text messages about withholding aid unless they get political help. The facts are more than enough.
@jaysbookman
I hope & pray the house committees protect his/her identity when itโs time to interview him/her. I do not trust any Rโs to go running to trumpster with info ๐๐๐๐
@jaysbookman
@LibyaLiberty
But Trump has already discredited the whistleblower many times. Said theyโre biased, worked with Biden, got info second hand, it was a perfect call, etc. No nickname, but theyโve definitely been mocked.
@jaysbookman
Except he has already tried to intimidate the whistleblower. That resulted in more coming forward. I hope when this all blows over the whistleblower comes forward publicly and receives the medal of freedom. Also Yovanovitch may be deserving of one.
