Most people who claim to be , rational and have scientific temper,can't solve a basic thermodynamics or a calculus problem.There are many dimensions to being logical. As long as one is making concrete progress in the field of science and tech,ones personal belief does not matter.

The basis for practicing religious practices is empiricism. Most inventions, including scientific ones, happened cause of empiricism. Giving kanike to Tirupati Hundi may or may not have logical explanation, but as long as it works for the Bhakta, it's fine.
