Chennai is great and all but is also terrible for someone who just wants to sit quietly in a public place without having to talk to someone else. The entire city wears a deserted look post 9 p.m. and it feels ridiculously unsafe. And no one's allowed to sit in beaches past 10 p.m

I don't want to sit in a cafe or a restaurant among noisy y00ths who have massive groups of friends. I just want to sit quietly and maybe think.

@ganesh_sanjana I've never understood why we are never allowed to sit on the beach! Ridiculous. There are anti social elements but with proper lighting and policing, it should be fine.

@ganesh_sanjana When I lived in Besant Nagar, this was my pet peeve. Would dig our feet in sand only to hear the whistle and siren screeching ponga ponga !

@TweetCheckIndia Cool but I'm talking about night time and not during jogger-waking hours.

@ganesh_sanjana Thiruvanmiyur beach (not the main beach) is pretty empty and very safe thanks to police patrol all the time.
