Great piece. I live in Scotland and we had ONE awful school shooting around 25 years ago. It’s still talked about and reflected on regularly. To us outside 🇺🇸, it’s just beyond belief that this is allowed to happen in your country so damn often
@gabekapler
@SFGiants
I will not be watching the Giants game today/tonight. I don’t know how much further I will take it beyond that. Baseball is taking my game away from me. The DH, expanding the playoffs to NHL/NBA levels and now bringing politics onto field. (Cont) 1/2
@gabekapler
Gabe, Thank you for speaking out. The U.S. is not a great country (No, I’m not moving) when we allow thousands of murders to happen every year - w/o addressing gun control and mental health like we’re capable of.
@gabekapler
Do you think it would have prevented him from killing? It might have delayed or been different victims & location, but he was going to kill to make a statement. All the warning signs were there & nothing was done. Doing something to help/ stop him was the only prevention.
@gabekapler
Well said. So much wrong with this country now. So many places to start but I’m sickened by our government and the politicians that refused to really address the most important issues.
@gabekapler
The shooter wins when people like you kneel. This is a great country, full of the brave battling every day for the people they love, the freedoms, the wellbeing of others. As for me I will stand tall, remember the brave people who fought for this country, honor them. America. 🇺🇸
@gabekapler
Why don’t you just make a sign and have Baer and Farhan sign it that says older fans and Veterans please don’t buy a ticket anymore to the Giants you loved since Willie Mays, you are not welcome. So sad what this franchise has become under you. Lucky Phillies fans. Mostly sad.
@gabekapler
As an American and combat veteran who also wants to see improvements, I would like you to consider this when choosing how you show your objection.

We rank
#64
in world for mass shootings; only 2.2% happen in US; only 1.5% of deaths.
The "gospel" about America being "only place" mass shootings happen is 1 of the most pernicious lies.
Question. Be smart. Don't spread misinfo or believe something just cuz "everyone" says it.
