You would think the anger would be toward the police & prosecutors who framed an innocent man and has allowed continued suffering for a family that never got the answers for their daughter. Adnan has the right to live his life, he is not the source of anyone’s suffering.

John is upset. John is also jealous. John is upset and jealous because In his entire life and now what looks like him being of senior age, he has yet to accomplish what Adnan has done in the short time while he’s been freed of a false conviction. John’s a loser at life.
