@CalltoActivism I think we should have term limits with politicians being paid the average salary in their home district.

@fham44 @CalltoActivism Be generous and let them live on the average non-government wage in DC.

@TrentFissure @CalltoActivism Then let them pay for medical care like the rest of us. Politics is about money and power. We can't take the power out of the position but we can take much of the money out. If we had the desire and motivation.

@fham44 @CalltoActivism It sounds good in theory but thats easier said than done. Now, the term limits im all for it. But would be no congress if the pay changes. A lot of them are maintaining 2 residents (in DC and home state), travel, DC cost of living, etc. No except the rich would sign up for that.

@fham44 @CalltoActivism Ooooh! That's cruel. That might force them to work for the people who give them their jobs instead of all their donors and lobbyists

@fham44 @CalltoActivism Let's not forget that members of Congress must hold an apartment in DC as well. Having two living spaces, while one is in an expensive city, requires a higher salary.

@fham44 @CalltoActivism Love this! Also, take away their special retirement benefits and live off the same SS and Healthcare we live on when we retired and paid for? I bet we would find out how many of them have actually paid into the system like the rest of us are required to!
