Love the Joe Pickett novels but Storm Watch is too political. It’s easy to see where the ideologies of
@cjboxauthor
lie. Makes me sad and disappointed. Reading for me is enjoyment and escape, not a political lecture, idolization or indoctrination.

I’ve had similar thoughts on some of the Pickett books. He clearly portrays certain political ideologies in his characters and themes. I haven’t seen that from other successful authors. I’m still reading them so we’ll see how that goes.
@emcasmijar
Seems your ideology comes through loud and clear too. But I’m guessing you were trying to make the point that your views are better than his.
@emcasmijar
@cjboxauthor
So, basically, you want a cookie-cutter image of yourself and your ideology in every book you read. That sounds very biased, boring, and narcissistic. I'll take a hard pass at your review of anything.

@cjboxauthor
These are books about rural Wyoming. They are also characters and not an autobiography. Any other views of the characters would really be doing Wyoming a disservice.

Then definitely avoid
@danielsilvabook
‘s work post-2016. He did exactly what you’re talking about to his franchise. Brilliant to alienate half of your audience!
