The only argument I need in the Gwynriel vs Elriel bs is that casual readers love Elriel and have no idea where Gwynriel even came from.
People who aren’t involved in shipping are asking when Elain and Azriel are getting together, if you even suggest Gwynriel they’re confused.

THAT is how you know your ship has no leg to stand on.
Romantic hints can be picked up by the most casual and basic of readers, if they get shocked that your ship is ‘even a thing’ then you may as well accept your loss right then and there.

Seriously haha. My coworker was so confused when I told him people ship G with A. He said it had never even crossed his mind. He sees elriel happening but thought it was a little obvious and is more of an elucien but still flat out said he never thought G would be with A
