Just treated myself to this 1924 Bombay guidebook, published exactly 100 years ago. As you can tell from the map at the back, the city has changed rather a lot since it was written!

I’d pay good money to see you do a Portillo style travel series on the basis of this book. The potential for Partridge - both intended and accidental - would in itself be worth every penny/ rupee

From a second-hand bookshop in Newcastle. It was published in 1924. I'd love to know how it got to the bookshop, although sadly one rarely can say much about the provenance of these things!

Wanted to plug something I did a while back - it's a history of land reclamation in Bombay from 1850s to 2010s, and a LOT of the city has grown that way.
