Who knew that Sikkim's top export was cooked stuffed pasta, Nagaland's was human hair, and Chandigarh's was needles? (Perhaps lots of people... but I didn't!)
To clarify (because I read this wrong to begin with): the infographic (by
@finshots
) doesn't show total exports. It shows what the top individual commodity is. So not hugely revealing, but a few unusual revelations!
@PatrickFrench
I wish I could shed more light on it. According to
@finshots
(who made the map) the data is from the 'NITI Aayog Export Preparedness Index 2020'. Sadly, further details about the nature of this $1.49m worth of cooked stuffed pasta - whether momo or raviolo - are not forthcoming.
@laurevans311
I would have thought that tea or spices or minerals would be (these are very likely to be much bigger overall than the filled pasta market!)

Any clues on what "cooked stuffed pasta" might be called in the indigenous languages? Finding it difficult to think about anything close to this in our cuisine. I think thukpa? But not sure since many thukpa factories are based in Kalimpong (west bengal).
@edanderson101
I am wondering what exactly is cooked stuffed pasta. Do they mean Ravioli, Cappelloni etc? Also, my mind just went to did they club momo as pasta. Just a thought. But this is something worth looking at. Thanks for sharing.
@edanderson101
Something wrong with this...no state has software has top export but we export so much....karnataka with most IT cos or delhi should have that....its some random data point used to make some useless point I think
