An estimated 5 million women joined hands today across the length of Kerala, demanding gender equality. Incredibly powerful & moving. Here are some pics I took in Trivandrum of the last 1km of the 620km route. #WomensWall #VanithaMathil

Some people taking issue with the estimated number of participants. This has been cited in various news reports (e.g. below), and appears to be a figure given by the organisers.

@edanderson101 @NishaPurushoth2 You should also take pictures of people from flood devastated areas still crying for help.Good amount of effort of Govt Machinery put in for this for a month. If the Govt has shown similar intent in rehabilitating flood affected people,it would have been meaningful.

@edanderson101 @ranyamanivannan Not possible. With 2 feet per women, approximately 1 million women needed to cover 620 km. About 40% of the highway are desolate. So not more than 500,000 only would have formed the chain wall

@edanderson101 Gender equality?😂😂 It was organised by the communist party against Hindu Traditions in Kerala, mainly due to Sabarimala. Look at these photos. Do you really think this is for Gender equality? So only Hindu traditions need change?

@edanderson101 By the way when will your Vatican allow girls in mini skirt. When will you speak against muslim patriarchy. Never, but you will always stand against hinduism and their faith. Shame on you. As all the women who participated are either christian or atheists.

@edanderson101 Didn't know people can be THAT stupid. Calculate 620 KM x 1000 = 620,000 metres x 100 = 62,000,000 cms. Divide it by 5,000,000 women = 12.40 cm. How the hell can you line up women, (esp Keralites with big girth) at every 12.5 cm?? 5 inch per women? 5" is another thing,
