@bagla In 2014 alone 24,300 people graduated with PhD degrees in India - the fourth highest number in the world. Why say "fake news" without even doing a simple Google search?

@shilpaanand @mihirssharma Fair questions. I also see now it's from over a month ago - it just cropped up in my newsfeed today.

@edanderson101 It indicates the lure of a permanent government job where no body can fire you easily and you regularly get salary even if you are below par with low accountability It also indicates mushrooming of private universities in India which distribute degrees like peanuts (Not all)

@edanderson101 The UGC in its wisdom has devalued Ph.Ds by making the degree- like NET-compulsory for teaching jobs that are scarce. Scholars undertake research to hang on to hostel accommodation and avoid the unemployed tag. When aspirations for civil service fade what else remains?

@edanderson101 @Devinder_Sharma It shows how poor are our degrees. A P HD see himself suitable for a job of messenger. Sham on him and on his education. Plenty jobs are available but for deserving and hardworking person only.

@edanderson101 Are their degrees fake that they realised they cannot get jobs according to their qualifications? And yeah we all know that UP is a rotten state nurtured by congress, maya and yadavs for decades can’t expect gems to come out of this rut just bcz yogiji is the CM

@edanderson101 Wow..so many lazy incapable young graduates in UP who want a secure, cushy job. What a shame. Messenger jobs for lazy policemen must be reserved for the poorest of poor, persons with disabilities, retired soldiers and marginalised. But what about Google, Yahoo and FB messenger?

@edanderson101 These PhD's are not talented enough. They just have to chant - "Bharat tere tukde honge, inshallah - inshallah" and the very next day they can fly Business class. Ask @kanhaiyakumar or @Shehla_Rashid , they are experts in this matter.

@edanderson101 his data clearly points to a) urgent need for improving standards of our degrees and b) obsession to get that ‘piece of paper’ for a ‘stable and cushy’ government job must end.

@edanderson101 It just shows how worst is our education system in which even a PhD holder does not have knowledge and intellect to do something on his own.
