i rly think internet communities esp ones in my circles need to be more careful w defining "problematic" with its current context. making mistakes, being rude online, etc isn't being problematic, it's just being rude. problematic implies a harmful deliberate moral failing

and like we could probably retire that word with its contexts bc it really doesn't mean anything concrete anymore, but having a bad interaction w someone online doesn't make them an inherently bad person. we should be more comfortable letting ppl make mistakes

also just to be clear: this isn't some anti cancel culture stance or anything like that. i think ppl need to absolutely be held accountable for their actions; it's just that we need to define "accountable" better, and understand what we mean when we say stuff like problematic
