I do wonder though what magnitude of patient benefit is likely to be achieved even with very heavy investment in AI. I'm not convinced we will see the step-change in patient outcomes that could be achieved by investing in other areas.

Personally, I think AI has great potential improving for surgical training across healthcare contexts, which hopefully will improve outcomes downstream.
