Lots of ~discourse~ around this, and let me just say that screaming kids are the bane of my life. I went to A WINE TASTING recently and someone brought their toddler who was allowed to run around shouting, banging things, causing general disruption. Kid-free areas should exist.
@dylanhjm
the parents are way more to blame than the toddler though for instilling a lack of discipline . why focus all your energy on denigrating the little kids who dont know any better , instead of the parents ?
@PrydeMoon
Oh for sure no, I’m not really arsed on playing kids vs dogs as the sign seems to be doing. I’m more on about people saying that excluding kids from any space is a bad thing.
@dylanhjm
Having watched staff BEG a family to control their rampaging kid in a nice pub recently, a kid who was endangering the staff and herself, and as they were clearly desperate not to escalate the situation - yeah, I'm happy with individual pubs being adults only.
@dylanhjm
I definitely agree with this sentiment. Even as a mom, if I’m going out to a wine tasting, I’m wanting to have ME time, not mom time.
I can understand that sometimes you may want to do something but can’t get a sitter, but you also should appreciate other peoples time - just…
@dylanhjm
Conversely, my kids are golden in public - but we constantly have to navigate weed smokers, vapers, drunk adults, and swearing - once you get your kid free areas I want areas free of the aforementioned 😂
@dylanhjm
Can’t wait for child-free flights! I’ve travelled a lot & can’t remember a single flight that didn’t have screaming kids & their parents ignoring them.
@dylanhjm
having no kids allowed at places central to alcohol makes sense and is reasonable. Idk why you wouldn’t just put 21+ on the sign instead of child free.
