Iโm not delusional enough to think I will live in communism in my lifetime; my hope is that my political activity can possibly someday contribute to a future where that is the case. Of course, more freedom in the lives of people around me is welcome.
If you don't think that communism is possible in the near term, why even be a communist? It seems to me that it would make more sense to be a social democrat if you don't think the reproduction of society is possible without value or some scheme which approximates it.
But I donโt think that the collossal task of completely restructuring the global economic system to the point where all traces of class society are gone will be accomplished in my lifetime. We donโt even have a Communist Party worthy of the name in the US.
Nonetheless do we have an International federation of parties that could lead some kind of global revolution. So why am I supposed to expect that Iโll live to see all traces of the value form removed from the planet? Makes more sense to focus on the first steps and contribute to
