Following science means following evidence, no matter whether the evidence contradicts previous policy directives. In fact, especially in such circumstances…since gov’t should always strive for credibility over self-affirmation. School mask mandates shown no benefit. End them!

Just a reminder that kids are not mandated to wear masks in Florida and they have the lowest case rate in the country. Meanwhile, your son had to wear his for 11 hours straight yesterday in NJ

Ok, let's not forget that Florida fired the doctor in charge of their statistics, so their daily count claims are suspect. They can't hide their death rates, though, and they are the 7th highest in the country. But sure, follow their lead and risk kids lives...

It isn’t just Florida. There doesn’t seem to be any evidence masks in schools have a significant positive impact anywhere. This article even-handed:

You’re promoting an anti-vaxxer conspiracy theory account. I do think there’s a reasonable discussion to be had about when to remove masks in schools, given that they aren’t required elsewhere and vaccines are available to kids now. It’s tough bc cases are currently rising again.
@declanoscanlon
What an amazing turn of phrase! Unfortunately governments that "strive for credibility over self-affirmation" rank right up there with the abominable snowman, and other fairy tail concepts.

Can we follow science on antibody same as vax for school protocols????? Got a healthy kid home for two weeks bc no vax. Any updates on this??
@declanoscanlon
Too often,folks tend to only focus on the particular facts or science that aligns politically. NOT just a Democratic or GOP problem. I disagree with the administration in NYC 95% of the time but they have a vacation rate close to 90% & COVID deaths are at near zero...🤔
