“AI coding tools make you a bad engineer” No they actually help you learn faster by dramatically shortening the trial and error feedback loop

@dankuntz Facts. Daniel gets it. God, if i had this when i was learning google appscript, i would have quickly gone from hating my life to just mild appscripts induced depression.

@dankuntz Literally this -prompt effective learning techniques like quiz&recall + interleaved practice and you have a new interactive learning platform

@dankuntz It has been good for learning new languages too because it can so patiently deep dive on things you need further explanation of, 100% personalized and in context 🤓

@dankuntz 💯! Evolution has shown us what cycles of trial and error can create. AI in programming half-automates the trial part, significantly reduces the error part and immensely speeds up the cycle time.

@dankuntz It also really lowers the pain barrier of coding. Really easy to keep coding when you don’t have the energy ti deeply concentrate.

@dankuntz AI has given me superpowers. I was initially self-conscious about the tool, being a full-stack web developer with over 11 years of experience I felt it discredited me, but now I see that’s silly. The trick is to code 100% yourself 1-2 days a week so you don’t become too reliant.

@dankuntz It’s the trial and error that makes you a good engineer in the long run. That burn is needed to build muscle memory.
