this app doesn't exist.
it's a podcast player with built-in transcription. it transcribes any podcast locally on your device, and lets you search all your downloaded podcasts' transcriptions.
hypothetically, if this app were to exist, would you be interested?

This would be pretty cool, but admittedly, I think it would have to work in the context of a larger, pre-existing app, like Anchor, for me to use it.

yes, but it would be an added feature I'd use occasionally, rather than the driving force behind selecting the podcast app. I use RSSRadio.

looks good, but appears i have to email them to get transcripts for anything non-mainstream :(
my hypothetical app would make your iphone do the transcription for you.

yes I would and I wouldn't ever use the listen feature. I would like to point it at podcasts, other voice recordings or videos and just read/search the transcriptions.

That’s awesome! I wouldn’t personally use it at this moment. I know people who would though. Also great for ADA tech if you can make it and get it in the hands of those in the medical field, especially those with hearing problems.
