if credit card companies can make the money they're making from 3% transaction fees, @Apple doesn't have to take 10x as much from developers.

@danielkuntz0 @Apple But an app store does a lot more than handle a transaction. Like data storage and transfer, QA and vetting, malware removal and probably more I haven't thought of yet. I can't say 30% take is fair but they aren't directly comparable.

@danielkuntz0 @Apple Agreed that Apple shouldn’t be taking 30% indefinitely. With that said, average transactions size and amount on credit cards are significantly higher, so it’s not a 1:1 comparison.

@danielkuntz0 @Apple I will have to check this again, but what's the margin on the physical distribution chain? Does it total 30% too? Did digital distribution platforms just copy their physical counterpart's fees?
