i’m asking honestly, why would i want to side w a some1 who went after a child w a 🗡️who asked for a 5 min fresh baby to check their hair color, who wanted women to be just as miserable as her, who told their “friend” they would make a fine queen only to usurp her 24 hrs later?

“The whole point of the story is people have been forced to pick sides and that’s why a civil war happens. We are imploring the audience not to do that, and to really empathize with every character and see inside their inner workings.” —Olivia Cooke via Vulture

who it seems constantly covered up her sons rape & subtly threatened his victims, who has no problem upholding the very system that oppresses her? why would i side w someone like that? at a certain point they’re not a victim anymore, they’re just culpable in their own misery

@promisedtarg Even if Alicent was a saint and her sons even saintier, why would I side with them or nobody at all when the only reason they even EXIST as a function opposed to Rhaenyra is MYSOGYNY ?Why should we as watchers/readers gloss over the mysogyny, a very real problem plenty of us have

@sapphicnyra like i just don’t get it? they all have agreed the theme is the damaging effects of patriarchy & what is a key element of that system? oh yeah misogyny, including women with internalized misogyny, you can’t just brush past that or not discuss that

@promisedtarg I think there’s a difference between siding and sympathizing or understanding even? while alicent was certainly wrong for her treatment of rhaenyra I do get the conflict she’s constantly battling herself with. like you can understand and even sympathize without siding with team +

@hanneninas i mean sure, but at the same time they’ve made it very political, so how can ppl not take sides? they’ve failed to elaborate on several story lines and rlp’s, so how am i supposed to look at it other than through a political lens? i also just have a hard time sympathizing w a

@TheBlackStag4 not on a character count, and not when there’s children on this app who look to get ppl suspended bc they don’t agree with what you have to say
