No, I mean winning 2 SEC titles when none had been won in 20 years, playing for 3 more, getting UGA back into the national conversation, avging 10 wins for 15 years, dominating all but one rival & lifting the program significantly from where it was when he inherited it.
@ChipTowersDN
Very well said, Chip.
@MarkRicht
did
@universityofga
proud on, and off, the football field. He set high standards for his players and enforced them, not always popular with

. But, I suspect that each young man he coached would say they are better men for it.

@ChipTowersDN
But he had overstayed his welcome. It was time for him to go elsewhere, he was given 15 years. Two SEC Championships, six SEC East Championships, never played for a National Championship. As good as he was, it was time to leave, he just could not win a big game. My opinion
@ChipTowersDN
Well put.Always think of the Roosevelt quote where he talks about the man IN the arena with CMR.Imagine if all the haters had every aspect of their professional lives nit picked the way coaches/players are.they are paid well but earn it
@MarkRicht
paved the way,the right way

@ChipTowersDN
Mark Richt should always be appreciated for what he brought here. God bless him. I hope he's happy for the rest of his life. He deserves it
@ChipTowersDN
To the people that hold any animosity to richt and his time at my alma mater and the school I love, go find somewhere else to spew your venom. Great article
