This movie's like a non-stop fever dream of "what the hell is anyone going on about?" America Ferrera's character wasn't even a sketched portrait of silenced woman who found the will to speak through her experiences with Barbie. She just seemed bored at her job.
imagine reducing a movie with the most heartbreaking/influential speech for women ever to a movie about “big boobs” like I’m so serious we need to find a way to reproduce without men
I don't know why this film was about motherhood or why we're supposed to laugh at her husband practicing his Spanish. I got the last bit out of me. No more thoughts on Barbie in 2024.

“What the hell is anyone going on about” is a great description of this speech. The Barbies do have any of the problems in it? Hell, America Ferrera in the movie isn’t shown to have the problems?

when this movie hits it hits but it feels unfortunately undercooked! so many aspects of it feel like they’d hit much harder if they were further expanded upon

White feminism is thinking that, in a year where Roe v. Wade was destroyed, the biggest problem facing women is when other women get jealous of you for being skinny and pretty
