Hands. Hand placement gives you a tremendous advantage. We must be precise with our hands. Just like a martial artist or a boxer. If we can master hand placement we will be more effective in combat. Also locking out on contact.

The hump and the spin are both counters. Yet very effective. Their go to move is a speed rush. Both counter is based on gaining success with speed first
@craigroh
Teach young rushers to be good at what they are. If you are a power guy be a power guy. Of your a speed guy be a speed guy. Then counter off of your bread and butter. Perfect your bread and butter then develop your counter.

For the nose I'll tell him to attack the screws and lag. Meaning play backside gap. If the backside guard is late i tell him to disrupt the backfield. If the ball is fast away chase the back hip of the ball.

Talk to your players about locking out on contact. Your get knock back from feet and hips. You gain control with hands and lock
@craigroh
There is value in the move. You just can let it me your primary move. Use it as a counter or change up.
If you can’t spin don’t spin. If you can use it as a tool. Only in the pass game never in the run
@craigroh
I like the inside hand because you can force the ol to over set. Outside hand down Force you to plant on third step or get too far up field. Inside hand down allows you to take a half of step at the top of the rush. The ol has to take a fourth kick when threatened with speed
A great attitude does much more than turn on the lights in our worlds; it seems to magically connect us to all sorts of opportunities that were somehow absent before the change.
