Today, Consensys filed a lawsuit against the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The goal behind this is to ensure that Ethereum remains a vibrant and indispensable blockchain platform and to preserve access for the countless developers, market participants, and institutions…
"If our lawsuit is successful, my expectation is that a lot of this regulatory uncertainly that has been detrimental to the U.S. would be cleared." -

🚨 Consensys is suing the SEC!
Where? Texas Federal court.
Why? To prevent an impending lawsuit over MetaMask wallet features being an labeled as an unlicensed broker dealer AND to argue that $ETH is not a security.
@Consensys
might just be the hero we need.
We are proud to stand with
@TXblockchain_
Council member company
@Consensys
as they push back against the SEC's attack on peer-to-peer blockchain tech and self-custody. What the SEC has done over the past several years is un-American and is pushing innovation overseas.
Our litigation against the SEC is intended to defend the entire Ethereum ecosystem, including developers, from overzealous interference with their software development work.

Thanks
@ethereumJoseph
and
@Consensys
for fighting back and defending our industry
We're tired of the overreach and harassment
Today we sued the SEC in our home state of Texas to defend ETH & the Ethereum network from Chair Gensler's unlawful power grab.
We've been forced to defend multiple secret SEC investigations for years now. It's time they saw the light of day.

The SEC has no authority—nor should it—to regulate global, peer-to-peer computer networks. The SEC’s aggressive overreach into commodities, software, and these novel technology platforms is unlawful.
I know ETH is a commodity. You know ETH is a commodity. The CFTC knows ETH is a commodity. It's time for the SEC to admit that it still knows ETH is a commodity too. No more games. Thank you to
@Consensys
for standing up against the SEC's unlawful expansion of authority.
Today, Consensys took an important step towards preserving access to ether and by extension the Ethereum blockchain in the U.S. We are suing the SEC and fighting back against its overzealous regulatory overreach. You can find more of my thoughts here:
