Since apparently some of y'all have never been told allow me, "boo fucking hoo" is a wild thing to say about a child who's witnessed/experienced abuse.
What if I told you that the more barriers there are to finding a place of safety the harder it is for people to leave DV situations. THEN what if I told you that for many people, leaving their 8-year-old child behind, would be a deal breaker.
@YouCaughtScott
It's so ridiculous. Like I genuinely went back and forth on even calling it out because it was so ridiculous I thought no reasonable adult could hold these views
@catestrophey
I cannot even fathom thinking that an eight year old child is an adult. Have these people even ever met an 8 year old child? Like when was the last time they met in a year old child?
@catestrophey
And what about the mother who needs to keep her children close because frankly an 8 year old is not long from the womb. Does she not also matter?
@catestrophey
This makes me so, so angry. . . None of these people have any idea what they shelter system is like. How there are almost *no* family shelters by design.
@catestrophey
OP's put in the thread a reply from a DV worker who said the age cutoff thing is no longer a thing and shelters nowadays realize it was an abhorrent practice they should never repeat
My point is most folx try to learn from the mistakes of the past. These folx reveal in them
@LilTheTrill
And God forbid on this platform you say a single positive word about men cuz suddenly you're a pick me? Nahhh you're just a bully. And the worst kind, a child bully
