@LakotaMan1 Umm NOBODY said they "aren't required to learn Black history", they DO teach Black history. They aren't allowed to teach Critical Race Theory. A theory or a set of ideas is not history. Theory: a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something.

If white kids in Florida aren’t required to learn Black History, then Black kids in Florida shouldn’t be required to learn white history. Agree?

@LakotaMan1 2) Our history is not black or white, it is what it is, hard facts regarding times, dates, people, places & events which took place good or bad. It should not be required to teach broad interpretive theories in public schools. Teaching kids basic facts is tough enough.

@NyreseBell @LakotaMan1 I realize that this may be hard to process but during COVID they did this thing called ONLINE SCHOOL which gave parents a close look at what was being taught in classrooms. Call it the 1619 Project or CRT whatever you like but it's foundations WERE BEING TAUGHT like it or NOT.

@c0lettea @LakotaMan1 First, define CRT. Second, show where it's ever been taught outside of college, in one class in upper law classes. Third, learn what theory means in this instance. Hint: an idea used to account for a situation or justify a course of action.

@DianeCarolRoy1 @LakotaMan1 First if you read the thread I already did define it in detail Second me saying it's a THEORY is completely factually accurate Lastly, calling it a "THEORY" which it IS ONE is not offensive nor an argument FOR OR AGAINST IT it's simply the fact.

@Comfortablydrnk @jennyresse @LakotaMan1 WRONG and to politely respond to your insult without being a jerk as you have. It could mean many things depending on WHO it is interpreting it It could be about White over-ascendancy, interest convergence or material determinism, social constructs or differential racialization.

@Deangeles228 @LakotaMan1 Perhaps that was true when you were in school or maybe may even still be true in your area but here they devote AN ENTIRE MONTH to Black History every year. That's 3/4 of a semester just on that topic alone.

@c0lettea @LakotaMan1 That's a lie. DeathSantis banned the AP Exam in AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY. CRT is NOT taught anywhere but at graduate level.

@Lauree_LauraLee @LakotaMan1 I am pretty sure they took down pictures of the pledge of allegiance because they had that horrible foul word of He who shall not be named aka "GOD", on them not because they depicted "black historical figures".

@c0lettea @LakotaMan1 CRT is taught on a college level and isn't taught in grade school although many try to make it seen like it is.

@c0lettea @LakotaMan1 DeSantis blocked an AP class on African American studies and the battle over CRT being taught in schools by Republicans is a political wedge based on the falsehood that it actually is being taught in schools. It is not.

@LeslieP75085538 @LakotaMan1 Look during COVID many students were schooled online, and I like many others was present for MANY of my grandchildren's online classes and they very much WERE teaching the foundations of CRT whether you accept that OR NOT.

@Vannag2020 @LakotaMan1 I'm not going to debate what I heard firsthand when my grandchildren were being HOME SCHOOLED ONLINE DURING COVID They WERE teaching the foundations of CRT in schools here. What your schools do, I don't know, but please DO NOT try to tell me what they were doing HERE.
