About 4 years ago a neighbour across the street invited me over for diner when my kids and wife were away. Very kind of them. I stopped talking about it as I could see they thought I was some kind of lunatic. I was not invited back! Canadians are very, very complacent and generally were super smug. They're not smug any more. Their two kids future isn't looking so rosy now either. What a huge mess.
