Special birthday shoutout to Frank Gorshin! While arguably best known now for his Emmy-nominated performance as The Riddler (which I think helped establish the show), he's my favorite impressionist! When he did an impression, he acted the scene...

He had a diverse career, ranging from Where the Boys Are (1960) to 12 Monkeys (1995) & beyond, including voicing Daffy Ducky, Foghorn Leghorn, & Yosemite Sam in the 1990s!

Immediately after his performance as the Riddler, I always think of
Frank (

) as an impressionist.
His 'Tommy Udo' informed his creation of the Riddler laugh.
And his recommended practice phrases to mimic Bela Lugosi ("Palo Alto") & Boris Karloff ("antipasto")

Loved him on the old KopyKats show! For those who haven't seen it, it pushes the boundaries...not politically correct. There are some episodes here:

Saw him onstage at Bob Stupak's Vegas World in the '80s or '90s (can't recall exactly) & he did one of the most entertaining shows I ever saw in my life up to this day. Generous & genius! He did all his great impressions & sang & chatted & it was phenomenal! THANK Y๐U, FRANK!
@bufocalvin
I saw Gorshin as Nathan Detroit in Guys & Dolls at the Desert Inn with Steve & Eydie sitting right behind me and it was the most Las Vegas-y two hours of my life.
@bufocalvin
Gorshin was in a classic Star Trek episode as Commissioner Beel from the planet Sharon, inhabited by people who were half-white, half-black.
@douglasyardley
Correct...or, you know, half-black, half-white, depending on the group to which you belonged. ๐๐Frank Gorshin played Bele, Lou Antonio (I always found him interesting) was Lokai in Let That Be Your Last Battlefield
