@authorsuec I was a bookstore manager. I heard a parent upbraiding a child for mispronouncing something. I said, "That's the sign of a reader: it means they've read the word but not heard it pronounced." The parent then praised the child πŸ™‚

What words did you learn reading and subsequently mispronounce? Mine was façade. I thought it was pronounced fack-aide for an embarrassingly long period of my life. #readingcommunity #WritingCommunity

@bufocalvin @authorsuec I've read so many words in books I've never heard pronounced, that even post 50yrs I'm still having "lightbulb" moments-it used to embarrass me, but now I just laugh & say "oh I never heard that word spoken out loud"
