I dont know hwo it is where you live but growing up i could of went to 3 high schools schools in 23 miles and over 5 within 30 miles for K-6 and I did go to a school outside my city multiple times in K-2 grades seems that is enough school choices to me

Public education only hurts children when people like you refuse to fund it. Private, for-profit schools actively harm all but the wealthiest families.
