Peter Dutton’s threat to pull out of the Paris agreement while the country waits two decades for nuclear would make Australia a “global laughing stock”, activists say
#auspol
Australia pats itself on the back for its futile efforts to change the temperature of the globe.
Meanwhile the US "produces more crude oil than any country, ever".
Stop punishing Australian familes ... GET OUT OF PARIS!
Peter Dutton now reckons he supports the Paris Accord, despite his policies breaking it.
Look what his own MPs think about net zero. The Liberals can’t be trusted on climate.
Ted O’Brien (19 October 2020): “It is very clear that [Labor] have vacated the field and are not prepared to tackle climate change front-on. If they were, they would have the courage of their convictions and name a target for 2030.”
Opposition leader Peter Dutton has confirmed that his Coalition’s push for

energy is inextricably linked with his party’s implacable denial of climate science

It’s clear who is calling the shots in the LNP.
The same climate change deniers who wrecked policy for the last decade.
And Dutton is either too weak to stare them down or perfectly happy with no action on climate.
Credit where it is due: congratulations to Matt Canavan and
Australia should leave the Paris Agreement.
Ever since we signed up to net zero, we have had soaring prices, skyrocketing interest rates and witnessed most other nations completely ignoring their commitments.
We should take care of Australia's needs first.
“There is no exception and no backsliding,” he said. “Reneging on our national commitment of 43% cuts by 2030 will damage Australia’s diplomatic, economic and moral standing,” said

No-one except Peter Dutton and big polluters think nuclear is a good idea.
Nuclear is their dangerous distraction.
A distraction that Dutton is using to create another culture war to enable big polluters to keep polluting.
We must plan for Climate Action and Job Creation.
The political divide on climate action has dramatically widened tonight.
The Coalition is promising to tear up Australia's 2030 emissions target, relying on nuclear power to cut pollution in the decades ahead.

Taking Australia out of the Paris Accord would see investment in renewable energy dry up, see job creating investments leave and have us relying on aging energy infrastructure.
Putting us in a club with Libya, Yemen and Iran is not a safe plan for Australia.
Peter Dutton = risk
Peter Dutton was never serious about climate change.
And he still won’t tell the Australian people where he plans to put his nuclear reactors - or how much they will cost.
