Of course not all Black books do this but idk, I just see a fishy pattern here. Like our lives aren't centered around racism and trauma 100% of the time. We live regular lives too lol I just write slices of life cuz that isn't seen much in media from a Black girl's perspective

To me, it seems like Black authors who don't write about racism have an even harder time getting in the doors than we already do. Most books by Black authors I know have racism in them and it's really frustrating cuz I just want to write about Black girls living their life bro
