The fact that he was so keen on the details of FIG rules to the point of saving copies of the rules bc they were constantly changing, and calculating himself the standings to see how are Jade's chances (a task which we all know became incredibly complicated at some point lol)

To me, the fact that he said he would have “in a heart beat” done the same for any other athlete he coached with no hesitation is a true testament to character. If you think about it, it’a quite amazing that Riley chose a coach that was coaching his own daughter at the same time
