Staff shortages you say. Good pay you say. Staring salary *including bonus* almost 15% below London living wage you say. Team leader starting pay below London living wage you say. Go figure. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

@anthonypainter @InlimboV Hello from Germany. My cleaning lady from Poland earns more than the manager.

@anthonypainter @TimMorton2 I wonder what the pay is like before the bonus. I guess the bonus isn't guaranteed. @Pret can you advise ?

@anthonypainter The people working FT on these wages are the 1/3 of UC claimants who are going to be hit hardest by the Β£80 a month reduction in UC

@anthonypainter Dont have any sympathy for these businesses if they struggle. Have sympathy for the staff. Let them close, and let more ethical 'retail' outlets open.

@anthonypainter 91p an hour is the cost of making a worker police their colleagues and think like an owner?

@anthonypainter That 19p variable for team members is brutally clinical. Just slicing away at the soul

@anthonypainter Remainers can thank us later when supply and demand takes over and causes coffee shops like this to pay a proper wage, now they can't just replace staff like broken lightbulbs by pulling staff in from eastern Europe.

@anthonypainter @DanKaszeta Someone tell Lexiters (again) that immigration has bog-all to do with salaries or (more importantly) quality of life and actual purchasing power. The next decade will be a great lesson in economics.

@anthonypainter In fairness they are almost bankrupt and struggling to stay in business. With more people working from home and hardly any tourists it’s not a good time for sandwich makers
