One year ago this morning, I awoke after about 3 hours sleep to the darkest day of my life. My One True Love had slipped away from me, in my arms, suddenly, unexpectedly a few hours before. To those here who reached out then & over this past year: Thank you.

Been there shipmate, 7 years ago. You learn to cope better over time, but the hole in your heart is still there...family and friends help you make it through. All the best to you on your journey.

Thanks; I have a couple of friends from my youth who are walking ahead of me on this path, and they've been very consequential, as have, as you point out, friends across my communities. Even the friends who randomly call to check in. It's all been crucial.

She was an interventional cardiologist for most of her 40+ years as an MD. She'd moved out of the cath lab to strictly clinical cardiology in 2021.

I can’t imagine how difficult of a year it has been for you. But I am glad to see that you are still getting out and living. Oshkosh and Churchill while annual treks, could easily have been begged off. And you still went. She still travels with you in your journeys!
