Yes, 09-27 is 10,571 feet long, but man, they were smoking in on short final. It means they either had personnel there to refold/repack the chutes or have spares in the bomb bay. (That’s how we rolled in the Whales)

I know much of my career was in an alcohol induced haze, but I heartily remember these being retired. Civil Air Patrol using these now?

Might be flying towards Rochester Airport I’ve seen c130s, chinooks, blackhawks and a few f16s fly over and practice touch and gos there

At Langley mid/late 80s we had a radio call - 'Heavy Cloud' - that if you heard it, every last person and vehicle was to clear the flightline and get away from windows. Always thought these birds were why.

Sounds like they might be supporting Exercise Northern Lightning at Volk Field, Volk doesn’t have hangars so Duluth may have been the most optimal in this situation I guess which is in close vicinity
