from one EoS’d game multimedia franchise fan to another …i feel like this mindset tends to be stronger on the foreign side of the fandom since many of them cant/don’t know how to access content outside of the game
ntm many fans can’t attend the real life events and collabs/
that keep the series and fandom going and in high spirits
and i’m not even saying this in an elitist way like ummmm stupid people hgdjfshb NO these types of franchises are genuinely so hard to fully enjoy as a foreign fans 😭 it sucks!!!
wether it be importing books, buying online live tickets, or just even having japanese knowledge to understand things like drama tracks, foreign fans have a LOT of hoops to jump through to enjoy content outside of the game in franchises like these
game apps are free and easily accessible so it makes sense that foreign fans put their focus on them and it’s a bigger loss when they eos
which leads to the
game dead = franchise dead
mindset
as much as it sucks to have no game, and i, and many love live fans would literally do anything to have a solid long lasting game UM
it’s copium but the mobile game industry is Tough nowadays and i feel like many franchises are trying to explore other venues for fans to enjoy…
series like love live and sidem aren’t dead, they’re just different now
i hope people can still enjoy and appreciate the content and efforts put in by staff and seiyuu and not disregard the franchise as over
@angelengage
from the LL perspective it feels like the game(s) have not been relevant to what the "fandom" has been outside of the English-speaking market for 3+ years
but a large amount of non-anime/game content is dependent on you enjoying seiyuu contents, which are undeniably niche
@angelengage
i didn’t want to make the thread too long but u got the points i didn’t mention, like merch and seiyuu content are inaccessible to the average foreign fan but are still large part of the franchises’ identity (esp anidols)
@angelengage
But the absence of a online game hurts much more in cases where the projects were born to be online service products (LL,CG, Grandblue, etc) as opposed to titles that depend on console games.
@angelengage
Yeah that's why SIF Series shutting down doesn't really weight down LL that much unlike Imas games. Like even there's not that much contents originate from the game either besides cards, 3D costumes, and nijigasaki original iterations
@angelengage
I was an A3 fan before I was a LL fan, and yeah p much. Like even anime adaptations don't give u the full spectrum of the experience, and is one of the barriers I've had in terms of getting into IM
@S
in general. I Under why, but I wish overseas markets were given a bit more love
