electronic music artists today need to realize they would be NOWHERE without the lgbtq pioneers of electronic music. they are standing on the shoulders of queer disco icons, the fathers of house music, the trans people who were messing around with synthesizers before anyone else
the complete ignorance and lack of acknowledgment towards the lgbtq+ community really shows one’s true character. electronic music has always been a welcoming place for these people: stop trying to change that narrative. we’ve already touched grass - maybe it’s your turn !
i completely agree that bipoc artists created the genre i am not trying to erase or diminish that fact. my original post was incredibly specific speaking on someone’s actions towards the lgbtq community not towards people of color so please stop taking my tweet out of context! ty

What queer artists are responsible for the current state of electronic music?
Of course, some of it will root back to queer artists but for "Electronic Music" overall? The scope of that term is insane and the pantheon of people who pioneered synthesis wasn't exclusive to lgbtq.
