Generally true with some outliers:
#1
BTC outperforms altcoins in bear markets.
#2
Alts outperform bitcoin in bull markets.
#3
Swing traders sell alts into bitcoin, repeating
#1
.
#4
Altcoins that survive do progressively worse in next bull market vs $BTC.
Now for some charts:
Example 1:
#ETHBTC
flipenning? This chart is not looking so hot for the largest/strongest alt, in bull run
#2
it got less than halfway to its first bull run.
@tradingview
I think you get the idea - you don't need to see another 1,000 charts.
Other than $EOS I did not mention any ICOs. I make no mention of the thousands of scams, pump and dumps, or other awful projects that I call "liquid garbage".
There are however, a very few outliers...π
#DOGEBTC
outperformed its earlier bull markets thanks to the meme coin hype, but that is a market factor that I do not consider to be predictable.
There is one real outlier I have found
#BNBBTC
.
@alexandre_lores
MarketCaps of AltCoins with good bases, like PolkaDot, FileCoin, ChainLink, NearProtocol, or Monero, have like 5b MC Avg and BTC like 450b MC.
Some altcoins can growth at least to 100b imoπ€ and share the same MC than ETH "easily"
