Shock power bill jump. How is this possible when energy minister says the renewable energy we increasingly have is cheaper. Could it be that he’s blinded by ideology?!

@alan_john_moran Pretty much …. It’s insane that our Government is doing this - Australia has huge energy reserves … but no, because of ideology everyday Aussies have to suffer …, so much for Labor being the “worker’s” party - they’re for special interest groups ONLY these days

@alan_john_moran "...we need to be clear before continuing that by “ideology” is meant here something closer to “cult ideology” than a more general meaning of the term. It is crucial to distinguish between these..."

@alan_john_moran 1. Climate policies & renewable subsidies cost Australian households around $13 billion per year, or $1300 per household. Senator Roberts commissioned economist Dr Alan Moran to use all existing government data to examine the true cost of climate policies.

@alan_john_moran the answer is really quite simple. Renewable energy is many times more expensive.

@alan_john_moran @LofayPeter It’s the simply dwindling supplies of base load power. Renewables are cheap, because of subsidies but costs big $ to integrate into the grid. Base load is becoming scarce so becomes valuable. Build a few CFPS’s, or better still nuclear, & prices will drop.
