Dishonest and misleading: CSIRO's "Chief energy economist" conjures up data to prove that renewables are cheaper than coal but does not say that this is only the case if coal bears a carbon tax. Defund this disgraceful agitprop entity!
@alan_john_moran
Coal is dying Alan. Cost of renewables keeps coming down, thermal coal as an energy source is slowly being would back. No capital, no new investment, no new plants. It’ll take a decade or more but our coal clunker power stations will be joining the dinosaurs in extinction.

I bet you they don't factor in the real cost of Solar and Wind if they were to normalise the wages of Chinese slave labour into Australian min wages...
#Renewables
are built off the back of Communist oppression.

@MRobertsQLD
The utility scale “renewables are cheaper” mantra is irrelevant as nowhere on the planet does this equate to cheaper energy to the consumer. Rather, the opposite.
@alan_john_moran
Amazing that he thought he could get away with this. The reputation of the CSIRO sinks even lower. This little swamp might need some attention.

@DavidLeyonhjelm
This deception comes from the fossil fuel subsidy myth which many true believers have been taught to or wilfully believe to help them in debate justifying RE subsidies.

@MRobertsQLD
The cost of renewables is IRRELEVANT. When they work at night or when it's too windy or dead calm get back to me. Doesn't matter how cheap they are if they ain't DESPATCHABLE.......
Lol! 😂😂 If you can't power a few turbines in Autumn, I guess it's a long wait until the Sun comes out.
What a waste of time and money!
"Go green" they said, I'm broke you idiots.
@alan_john_moran
@DavidLeyonhjelm
The green is cheaper, tactic is not new. The IMF states that up to %90 of energy subsidies are environmental costs, not any actual money paid by anyone. But if the solution ticks the 'green' box, no such (think open cut lithium mines) costs are included.
