Even as government works towards renaming India as Bharat, the Indian Navy is looking at allowing Bhartiya or Indian dresses in officers messes and wardrooms. This is part of its initiatives to get rid of colonial practices which allow western dresses in messes but say NO to…
@ajitkdubey
Wearing western clothes in Mess Or anywhere else is not a colonial practice. By this logic, even in Corporate and other Govt sectors, wearing western clothes should be termed as a colonial practice. This argument is very weak.
@ajitkdubey
Navy in the forefront of breaking colonial shackles. George cross , fouled anchor removed , batons removed and now dress court in army messes . Also probably the most indigenised branch .....NAvy the Sigmas
@ajitkdubey
Having a modern military is also a colonial practice. Should we get rid of it too ??
In this day and age, how is wearing smart dresses a colonial practice ?? What is this inferiority complex ???
Why is everyone letting the stink of one rotten fish prevade the entire pond ??
@ajitkdubey
Cannot really be simply termed and discarded as “Colonial practices”..
These are ingrained into the defence services and are internationally accepted.Places like Officers Messes etc were not prevalent traditions in early Indian armies..
Navy is simply sycophantic
