SL essentially out of the tournament, but for the first time in years, it feels like a team that could build to something.
Hasaranga is 24. Nissanka + Avishka 23. Chameera 29. Theekshana 21. Kumara 24.
Enough to get something going.

Still need some improvements. This T20WC all teams came with at least 3 spinners, Unfortunately SL had only 2, It causes SL to eliminate from S/ Final, 1996WC SL had 4 spinners (AR,SJ,KD,Mu),If players not give 100% output, need to be changed, Athur didnt do it this series.
@afidelf
Based on what I have learned from your reporting on Sri Lanka cricket I assume the board will fire the coach, drop all the players you have just mentioned, and the next time we'll see any of them will be in 2024. But until then, things do seem to be looking up.
@afidelf
If we can't build a winning team with this bunch of players in 2-3 years time we are definitely doing something wrong
Asalanka is 24 Chamika is 25 as well.
Better things are yet to come
@afidelf
Arthur’s is good coach to have of young squad in charge.
Remember he nurtured, protected & made Babar Azam from the treacherous & murderous world of Pakistan cricket.
Preserve & persist with Him.
@afidelf
Fully agree. For a long time there has been not much hope with a nadir here in England over the summer. They have shown fight in all games of the T20 WC and have lost small but key moments in the 2 recent games. Much of it is big game experience. Looking forward the next few yrs!
@afidelf
There was an energy in the field vs South Africa I hadn't seen in years. If only Shanaka could replicate his domestic form in internationals, they could've won these games too! They're lacking that power finisher.
