the internet, six months ago: how important is smart delivery really? i don't really get why microsoft keeps talking about it, this seems like a no-brainer.
the internet, today: ... fuck.
as someone who also lamented the fact that the xbox OS didn't get a visual overhaul with the new consoles last fall i've got to admit that things more often than not just working the way they should far outweighs the mild seratonin i'd have gotten from something different.

If you're on PS5 all you have to do is twirl around 5 times, touch the ground & shout "not it" .
Then you're not "it" & can hide again as quick as possible, if you're spotted you are considered "out" & must leave the game.
If you're on Xbox just accept the update, you good.
@aegies
Outside of the lack of a 4K dashboard and a DVR system that's in desperate need of an overhaul,
The Xbox OS just works. That's it.
And honestly...I'm fine with that.
@aegies
it took MONTHS before my PS5 figured out I might only want the PS5 version of games, and stopped forcing the install/download/update of PS4 versions, every time it was turned back on (even from rest mode... if I took THAT chance).
So I literally just didn't play it for months.
@aegies
On Xbox all you fucking do is turn on the console with the game on the drive or try and start it. If it needs an update it does and you get the latest version. Boom..
@aegies
It took my brother 3 days to update Crash 4 to the PS5 version. He had to call customer service and lost a weekend playing the game. With Smart Delivery you just play the game, regardless of which version you bought and you will automatically have the optimal version for your HW.
