The highest payout from San Francisco’s historic wage theft settlement against DoorDash is $17,000, which goes straight to the impacted driver. Many of the workers are receiving payouts over $10,000.
The CPUC (the same body tasked with regulating PG&E!) and its appointing authority Gavin Newsom are putting big money ahead of basic public safety & common sense.
This example of regulatory capture is unethical & immoral but legal. SF deserves integrity from our State leaders.

When corporations spent $200M to tell us Prop 22 was about "worker flexibility," they meant the flexibility to deprive workers of basic benefits during a pandemic.
Prop 22 will go down as one of the worst assaults on workers in California history.
Vons and Albertsons stores in California just laid off every one of their full-time, union delivery drivers, and will replace them with DoorDash gig workers who receive no benefits as a direct result of Prop 22.
There is nothing progressive about tolerating misery.
Nothing moderate about refusing coordination and accountability.

Mayor's proposed budget will eliminate a SRO housing, life safety program. Facing a deficit, we must identify the must-have's from the nice-to-have's.
I stand w/ SRO Collaboratives from Chinatown, TL & Mission, who saved lives during pandemic. Why would we abandon them now?
