As political sponsors we use our status as German MPs to put pressure on the IR regime. We take on the responsibility for one or more prisoners. We keep track on any news of them. We ask our own government to fight for their release. /1

We demand that the IR regime stop their inhuman actions against their own citizens. We demand the release of "our" prisoners. It's not a one-time-action. We follow up regularly to raise the pressure. We raise awareness by talking to the media and posting online. /2

We show the world that we as German MPs care. That we see what's going on and that we are willing to confront the IR ambassador and thereby the IR regime. Political Sponsorships have been very effective in the past. There are many more German MPs who have already taken action /3

...or who are going to take action in the next days. It is also possible for MPs from other countries to become Political Sponsors. It is not a German thing. We are trying to cover as many prisoners as possible. We get support and advice by experts and activists. /4

We try to prioritize the prisoners who need urgent support and who are facing the immediate death penalty. But that is not easy. Everyday there are new developments, new names coming up. We do our best to keep up with these changes and to fight for every life. /5

What makes it harder is the barrier of language. Not being able to read Farsi makes it harder to follow the newest events online. We really try to do our best and to support you as well as we can. We really believe that together we can make a change for the better. ✊️/6
