Many of you pointed out code that boosts likes, retweets and other Tweet attributes (image URL, hashtags, trending topics, etc). This turned out to be old and unused so we’ve deleted it.

To avoid confusion, we also made an update to the README on weighing heavy ranker outputs.

You pointed out a safety label mentioning Ukraine, this was an old label used to help classify information in Twitter Spaces which is not in use so it has been removed.

One pull request found a genuine bug where a threshold was incorrect. We fixed that in this commit . In total, we’ve pushed commits to address 30+ issues or pull requests.

There are several other suggestions that we’re currently working on - we will post further updates as changes are implemented. Your feedback is much appreciated!

@TwitterEng Can you not recommend me tweets from people that have nothing to do with my interests? Or at least give me a reason they show up?

@TwitterEng Great work! Is there a way to eliminate sports news and sports in general from my feed?

@TwitterEng It would be nice to have Picture in Picture for Twitter spaces , hard to listen while on the go or using other app. 🙏

@TwitterEng * In order for accounts to be able to change their name faster and avoid confusion with followers, you can display the previous account name when you hover on it (or something like that) and show it for a couple of months. * You can also allow us to pick a default name/word that…

@TwitterEng It's great to see that Twitter is taking feedback from users seriously and making updates to their algorithm accordingly. Removing old and unused code and updating the README to avoid confusion is a good step towards improving the user experience. 👍

@TwitterEng Thank you. If you need another feature, would you be able to make an option to scroll through the feed and only see original posts without RT’s?

@TwitterEng There's about half inactive accts. I remember Elon Musk said they will be removed. It will help twitter to function better.

@TwitterEng I suggest that replies (not just likes and retweets) be given greater weighting than it is currently. Replies can take more time, and therefore indicate a greater level of engagement than simply clicking “like” or “retweet”

@TwitterEng That’s nice but when are you going to update the Twitter app for macOS? It’s super old. Doesn’t have any Blue features; doesn’t have the new timelines. Please do something about that. Thanks.
